Help with Flight MEL-JNB
Hi,
I hope this is the right forum to post this, but I heard this morning that my mom was really sick and that I should fly to JNB asap. Just trying to find flights. SAA and QF seem to be quite full. I would prefer to fly Business class if it's at all affordable. I found an Air Mauritius flight which seems cheapish, but not sure on availability as it's a bit confusing and I am not really at my sharpest.
I can easily get to SYD and go from there as I know there are more options. Departure date is flexible - but soonish - and return date needs to be very flexible. Roughly Oct 5- departure, return Oct 12-.
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear about your mother 
You could look into MH, which flies KUL-JNB on Wed/Fri/Sun, and SQ, which has daily SIN-JNB flights. Both have daily MEL-KUL/SIN services.
Both depart MEL in the mid-afternoon, and put you in JNB the next morning after a ~4 hour layover at their respective hubs.

Also consider CX - via HKG. There is an excellent connection (only 1.5 hours) by taking CX 104 and connecting to CX749. There are also other options available via HKG on some days.
Not sure as to the cost.
You may want to consider a OneWorld Circle Indian Ocean Fare - would allow you to get to JNB via HKG on way and direct back on QF. The OneWorld fare tends to be cheaper than last minute point to point fares, and in J has no advance purchase requirement. Ask your travel agent or contact QF directly. For more help on the Oneworld fare hop on over to the OneWorld forum.
