Where to find good fares for sfo-lhr in dec, 04

I am looking for some good fares from SFO to LHR around xmas time. Any tips on finding decent fares?

I flew from SFO-LHR last december for about $600 after tax on Virgin. It was a very last minute business trip, and I booked it the day of. I was surprised at how low the cost was for a last minute ticket.

You should easily be able to find tickets for around $450 after tax just by searching the regular sites on the web.

I'm sure if you search really hard, you could find it for less than that too.

This doesn't appear to have anything to do with miles or points, or the latest frequent flyer program buzz, so I'm going to move it to TravelBuzz.

If you can provide dates that'll narrow down the search.
the following link was provided in another post, it might be a good start :

Air Canada often has good fares on that route.

Wait until after Labor Day weekend to find the lower winter fares to London. From the Bay Area, they usually run between $300-$400, all-incl.

That would be a great find (if "all-incl") given that the taxes run at above $100. I hesitate to travel to/through London these days unless I have given the ridiculous taxes. In the past, London used to be a great hub for cheap fares but given the current taxes, it is not so attractive (as a travel hub).
