Easter Island. How to get to it?
I am going to be in SCL the last in July/August, and I thought that I would visit this mysterious island.
But the only option seems to be LanChile for about $900 pp.
Are there other options that don't show up on Travelocity? Might I have a better chance for a cheap deal once on the ground in Chile?
I would also like to either use or earn NW/CO or *A miles. But this doesn't seem like it'll be possible.
Any suggestions?

Lan Chile is the only bird that flys this route--and only on certain days of the week. Some travel agents might be able to offer better deals in chile but since there is no competition on this route, I doubt any great deals exist.
The only ways that you might be able to save a bit of money is to incorporate the trip to Easter Island with your ticket down to chile and you also might want to see if Lan offers any air passes that give a discount to Easter Island.

I saw a travel programme on TV a couple of years ago and when they got to Easter Island airport there was an American Trans Air charter in there. In fact there were two! So there seem to be charters into there as well and it may be worth checking round the various tour agencies.
