Shower at AMS

Has anyone used the shower facility at AMS? How much does it cost? Compared to NRT? Thanks.

Mercure Hotel in the airport, mezzanine level, charges 20 NLG. Clean and serviced after each use. Waiting time varies from zero up.

These showers are still there, and are pretty decent. KLM also has showers for it's elites but the wait for that is usually terrible.

Thanks!

Two follow-on questions.

I assume the KL showers are for their elites, not NW.

If they do allow yankee scum, how do you suppose the wait will be at 0600 on a Saturday?

I could use the shower in the KLM lounge as a Worldperk elite. You must be a platinum anyway.

Also I am an Asia worldperks member. Not sure if that makes a difference.

My understanding is that only Asian Worldperks gold/plat members get KLM lounge access. The others must either have a Worldclub membership or be flying WBC. This may have changed in the past year, however.

KL longhauls from BKK, SIN, BOM, and KUL arrive in AMS around 6AM, among others. Many passengers, few showers...

KL doesn't fly to BOM.

It is KL from DEL and NW from BOM that arrive at that hour.

The policy for NW elites to get a shower (in the Crown lounge) in AMS:

- you must be plat (and be carrying your card)
- you must have a WC membership (and be carrying your card)
- you must be flying in WBC

You have to have all three of these things or off you go to the commoners lounge. Note that this may have changed with all the lounge shuffling. I never could figure out exactly what the situation was since then.

There is no longer a "commoners' lounge". All KLM lounges are equal. But only one of them has showers (the old Royal Wing lounge near E pier), and you need to have a Platinum card to get a key to the showers.
