You can also take the B15 to New Lots avenue and take the Number 3 (ex-IRT) train to Manhattan. Convenient if your destination is the along the route of the 1/2/3/9 trains in the city.

I had forgotten about the Q3 until another poster mentioned it. In fact, it is the fastest (by about 5 minutes) connection to a subway station, followed by the Q10 and the B15.
