Last I knew there was a left luggage office at South Station, run by one of the bus companies (so it's way down in the bus station section). Means you'd have to schlep it downtown. It's not that convenient, really, but it is an option. I'm not sure what other option there would be....

There are coin-op lockers in place at least in the US terminal (B?) but like in most/all other U.S. airports, they have been taken out of service for the past 2 years. Amtrak South station had a manned left luggage office. Not sure if you needed an Amtrak ticket or not.
