Mikanos
Hello,
My parents are visiting MIKANOS (Greece) from Zurich, for their upcoming honeymoon in a few weeks.
They are in their mid 40s, however they are young at heart.
I would like some good top tier hotels as suggestions for them to stay in Mikanos, for their upcoming trip.
This is their first time to Mikanos, thus they want a hotel in the center, and a hotel which has its own luxuries.
Would appreciate your input
Cheers

The only relevant thread I saw:

You might want to search the Starwood and other hotel forums in MilesBuzz for some info.
Also, make sure to search on "mykonos" as well, since that's how I've always known to spell it. You might be able to find more responses.

Santa Marina Resort & Villas
or
Kivotos Clubhotel
You mentioned that they would be leaving in a few weeks, please note that hotels in Mykonos start closing down in October, and re-open in March. I believe at the Santa Marina, last check out date is Oct. 8th, and at the Kivotos the last check out date is Oct. 16th.

Go to your travelagent, they will know (or be able to find out) the easiest what hotels are open during the off-season and then can tell you which is hopefully having the hightest standard. Please be aware that down there a high standard can mean that there are no bugs clearly visible, it is a bit like Mexico with less tourists.... (well, a less organized tourism, better words)

Just got back from Mykonos - first trip there. There are hotels around the island, but if your parents are young at heart, and like to go out, I would strongly suggest staying at a hotel right in the main town. Otherwise they'll be too isolated. In the peak of summer, it might be too noisy/crowded there, but now it is getting quieter, and the main city is great to stroll around, find restaurants, shop, nightlife (wonderful piano bar on the 'sunset' side of the main town). I would no suggest a hotel, however nice, that is not in the main town. My 2 cents!
