I wasn't aware that we were at Red.

I believe we are at 'Orange Plus' which must equate to something like Peach or Apricot or something equally fruity...

Is this what changed yesterday? If so, has the airport security changed?

It would depend on where you are, for example New York has never come down from Orange to Yellow so there were no real changes, but some other airports have increased security with the change from Yellow to Orange (we are not at Red).

No, it's pretty much still uniformly stupid.

Code orange is not so bad, but code red could be a nightmare:
http://www.usatoday.com/travel/news/...5-code-red.htm

Code red would severely restrict the ability to travel relatively efficiently:

"...a ban on parking within 300 feet of an airport terminal, search of every vehicle proceeding to a terminal and the elimination of cargo on all passenger flights. Passengers may be required to check in at least three hours before a flight and shouldn't be allowed to carry laptop computers..."

We obviously do not have enough colors or levels because Orange Plus does not cut it. What shade fits in between Orange and Red? I guess we have to keep Red as the highest level for all the history but does that mean we elevate Orange and get a shade under Orange and above Yellow?

I like Hot Pink myself . Maybe we need to revamp the whole thing because it is clear everyone is confused on what color we are at and as pointed out, NY has always been at Orange so they must be Orange Plus Plus? Oh the decisions we have to make!

Isn't Orange Plus juice with calcium added to it?

How much American taxpayer dollars do you think was spent to devise this color-coded alert system?
