Anyone Stranded at IAD
With 12 - 24 " of snow forcast for today/tonight I was wondering if anyone got stuck at IAD? Edited to add; WC just said that IAD should have 12" by noon time today
Weather channel said IAD has one runway open and are trying to keep that open, DCA is closed (as of 7:30 AM); they didnt mention BWI.
There is about 6" in my driveway right now and heavy snow is forecast thru 5PM to where it gets 'downgraded' to just snow LOL
this could be the big one (a top five all time according to weather channel) for the DC area

IAD is still open as of 8:21pm. They have kept the one runway open, while both DCA and BWI are closed. I'm supposed to take the shuttle down to DCA tomorrow morning, but it looks like that is already cancelled. Then was considering the train (most are already sold out), however, I work near IAD and if the weather is bad enough where they can't even open the airport, I'm not sure I'm going to want to drive from Washington's Union Station out to IAD.

Seems to me you don't want to go anywhere near DC in this. They're gonna end up with around 2 feet of snow give or take. That place shuts down with a few inches. Unless you absolutely positively have to be there, put it off until Wednesday or so.

I'm at my parents' place near CLE--till tomorrow at the earliest (I rescheduled my WN flt back to BWI to Tues am). I can only imagine what MD looks like right now!
