question: appropriate compensation 24 hour delay?

sorry, but I thought I read something about this once before, but all my searching is not paying off... what is appropriate compensation for a trans Pacific flight being delayed 24 hours due to mechanical problems? assume the airline is already offering a hotel room, meal vouchers, and standard "delayed passenger" kit, i.e. phone card, drink voucher, coupons...

This did happen to me last year.

They did provide hotel rooms and meal coupons in YYC and LHR. The flight did arrive at LHR so late so I missed my connecting flight to Sweden.

First AC gave 15.000 aeroplan miles to everyone and I got another 15.000 miles after a long letter to customer solutions in YYC.
