The Delano Miami

Hi,

A couple (my relatives) in their mid 30s are visiting Miami. They will be staying at The Delano on south beach, arriving on a Friday evening and leaving Monday night.

They are going for the first time and would like to have a good hotel stay with accessibility to food, shopping, etc.

ANYONE WANT TO SHARE GOOD OR BAD STORIES ABOUT THE DELANO PLEASE

Thanks
RJ

I can share a "bad" story from this past weekend. I had a confirmed reservation there and they were overcapacity. Their solution? Act like they couldn't find the reservation. After fifteen minutes of arguing, we were finally given an inner room, a far cry from the oceanfront suite reserved. My husband and I took one look and went to the nearby Shore Club, which had nicer rooms (although still quite stark). I have also stayed at the Loews and enjoyed it. The Delano's staff has a ton of attitude, at least the front desk people.

there is not a lot of shopping on S.Be. Mostly restaurants, hotels, and nightclubs.

Bal Harbour is upscale shopping on Miami Beach (island) a few miles north.
