Any pay for simulator time?
I meant to say "Anyone pay for simulator time?"
I think BA, the old TWA, LH had simulator time that you could buy. Anyone know about any other airlines or maybe someone like Flight Safety Int'l? I wonder if US Airways in Charlotte or anyone in the New York area has simulator time?
On the other hand, you may be tagged as an international terrorist and forever have to wear sandals or get kicked off flights!

My husband didn't have to pay for it, but there are sims at a JAL facility (or maybe it's just a facility JAL uses, I forget) in the Napa Valley area. He, an FAA employee, was giving a tour of various facilities to his counterparts from Japan, and they went there for sim time. From what I gathered they all enjoyed it, but my husband says he didn't enjoy it enough to ever pay for it.

Sorry ... just reread and realized that probably didn't help with your question. UA had a program where you could spend miles and get sim time. I don't know if that's been suspended or not since 9/11. I don't know if you can buy time on those sims in the Napa Valley.

Ansett in Australia (RIP) used to have an annual fund raiser for a local charity (may have been Children's Hospital or similar) where they sold slots in one of their sims at Melbourne. You had to book the time just like booking a flight. I think they took in three people at a time for a 30 min slot.
From memory they had a 737-300, 767-200, A320, Saab 340 and possibly others available.
Sadly, we won't be seeing that anymore since AN died last year.
Have a look here for some info:

The right friends make paying obsolete. I have been spent several hours over the last couple of weeks flying the MD-11 simulator that FedEx has in ANC.
Gotta admit, it's awesome!
