I concur. Since the start of the flat fare in the early nineties, I normally just take a cab from JFK and a car service to the airport. It is inevitably quicker, especially if your flight is very early or very late.

If this is in connection with a trip on Concorde, you might want to get in touch with BA. They certainly advertise that they can arrange JFK transport in the Concorde Lounge.
