Am happy with Ryanair though - find their seats very comfortable because they are so high (I'm over 6 foot)

Happy with Ryanair Decentlegroom? Mmm, I am not a great fan of Stelios either, but I don't think that Easyjet would be as mean and go as low as Ryanair in letting its passengers down. You may want to have a look at http://www.unison.ie/irish_independe...issue_id=6405.

Among the no-frills airlines, FR are really the lowest of the low. As to no-frills not flying from convenient airports, this is (apart from London) a Ryan air speciality. Easyjet, Go and Buzz normally fly to ordinary airports (viz. Lyon rather than St Etienne, or GLA rather than PIK, for instance). GO and Buzz are very decent and Easyjet is OK. Ryan air just sell some extraordinarily low-priced tickets, but if you travel last minute, avoid FR. They will probably charge you more than a full service airline.

I had e-mailed LemonThrower's Worth link to my son, and now it doesn't work - I think it may be too old. Does anyone know how to access it - perhaps saved off-line (if that even works)?

The official link is
https://www.worth.com/subscription/s...seaction=login
but you have to be a paying subscriber to access it. Your local library might have a copy of the magazine (I do not know which month), or perhaps someone here does.

Have a look at the help pages / airports a-z on www.easyvalue.com it lists all the routes operated by low cost airlines flying ex UK.

On a pedantic note easycar (the new name for easyrentacar) is not an easyJet company.

All of Stelios' businesses are stand alone and have their own managemen teams, business plans, goals and shareholders.

The low costs (by and large) do not compete on a head to head route basis. There are very few overlaps. However they do compete for the in the lesiure travellers pocket.
