Using corporate rates at Hotels

I remember making reservations for certain hotel chains online and selecting the "corporate" rate instead of the regular rate.

When checking in or out of the hotel, I was never asked for any "corporate" identification.

Does anyone know which hotel chains are more strict and which ones are more lenient on their customers using the corporate rates?

Anyone been declined a corporate rate and asked to pay the "rack rate" at check out?

I'd be extremely surprised if you ever encounter a hotel, regardless of chain, that requests proof of your corporate status. It doesn't happen in the normal course of events.

I think Avis made me show my corp ID once, maybe in 1980.

What you were getting was the non-restrictive "corporate" rate. It was not a privately negotiated rate that's given to a single company's employees.

Basically, normal "corporate" rates are no different than "weekend" rate.
