Opinion on Thai First Class
I am about to start piecing together my
September RTW trip. Can I please get a
opinion on Thai Airways First Class service.
I think of all *A airlines the UA First Suite
is the best in the air for comfort. Service
is acceptable. BKK to FRA I can fly either
TG or LH. I like LH F service. Seat comfort
is not great. Your advice welcome.

I would strongly suggest SQ for the BKK/FRA. You'll have to go thru SIN, but you'll have a much better flight.
Service on Thai is fine, but their equipment leaves much to be desired.

Personally, I really love flying TG. I do have to say, however, that it seems that some of the aircraft cabins are looking a little "long in the tooth" recently and F class comfort is not in the same league as you could find on SQ.

LH does not have suites like UA, however their seats are extremely comfortable and do go flat. As far as service and catering, in my opinion, LH is light years ahead of UA. They also still have caviar if you like that!

For physical plant, I'd give the edge to LH with newer equipment, and perhaps marginally more comfortable seats, though I like the TG floorplan, with the galley on the right and the more private restrooms. Crew-wise, TG is superior. My own preference: TG because I can't speak German

Not speaking German should be no problem with LH, whereas not speaking English is a problem even on Germany-USA flights on UA.
TG's service is outstanding at leat in the classes I have flown (C and Y).

I am with MikeFLy. LH service is superior to
UA service in F. The seat comfort and
separate space (3J) on UA gives them the
edge. It does not help me on my BKK - FRA
flight. I may fly via SQ. Thanks for all
your posts.

Just joking. On TG, I find that the FA's like to gossip a fair bit in Thai, so I sometimes wander over, eavesdrop, and then inject a few comments to their amusement, shock and/or horror (the latter only when they think they're safe in a cabin of farang, as they discuss one or more noteworthy pax).
Not so much fun on LH
