I promise they're really good nologic! I, too, have adopted a 5 days on, enjoy the weekend approach. I long ago phased into lower fat forms of protein as a rule - lean beef, fish, chicken low fat cheese, etc. and maintain on about 40 grams of carbs a day. My cholesterol levels, blood sugar levels, and general well being are much more stable as a result.

But I love finding good sources of low carb 'goodies'..

Look for "Designer double chocolats" by Next Proteins They have a web site, www.designerprotein.com
These bars are the best I've tried.

Was this ever a great subject! I find travel really kills my Atkins diet. I can usually find the protein but denying my sweet tooth is almost impossible. At home, when I'm strictly observing, I usually soothe it with diet Jello topped with heavy cream but in the air I just eat everything I shouldn't.

I'm already salivating at the thought of Belgian chocolate, svpii. thanks for the tip. Just think, I can indulge myself with chocolate and get miles on my AAdvantage card for the order. The best of both worlds!! StacyCat, I found the lowcarbluxury site interesting but, unfortunately, I fly AA and the site even says they don't do low carb anymore. Maybe we should all e-mail them. I'm usually in Business unless I'm flying domestic where I now refuse to use up miles upgrading since MRTC. As pointed out, you can usually find enough protein and salad plus those warmed nuts to keep you happy. I just always find it hard to turn down that desert.

I have to agree that Atkins is the only diet I ever went on and really saw fast results that lasted without feeling like ripping food out of people's hands. I also modify it to a weekend off but sometimes the weekend stretches into weekdays and then I have to go strict for a bit. I'm in the midst of one of those strict bits right now.

This is why I love this site. You never know what you're going to find besides the best FF tips.

I just went to GNC and tried Myoplex low carb vanilla cream shakes, and I like them better than Atkins -- less tinny, and only 3 carbs.

I also had a Myoplex blueberry bar at 2 carbs that was decent but not amazing.

I am 2/3rds of my way down to my target of 180 which I figure is another 2-3 weeks...at which point I will feel great...these tips really help...traveling and keeping fit is tough.
