FAA announces 10 worst airports for on-time performance in 2000
The FAA has just released its annual report on the 10 worst U.S. airports for on-time performance. According to the FAA, a delayed flight is defined as one that leaves the gate 15 minutes after a scheduled departure or arrives 15 minutes past the scheduled time. In order of worst record, per 1,000 flights:
LaGuardia (NYC) 155.89
Newark, N.J. 81.21
Chicago 63.30
San Francisco 55.84
Boston 47.45
Philadelphia 44.50
JFK (NYC) 38.60
Atlanta 30.90

The airport with the best on-time performance was awarded to Kahului, Hawaii, which had 0 delays per 1,000 passengers.
