Answer AOL or Compuserve! Even when Stimpy and others argue AOL is not a real ISP. I don't care - it works all over the world.
The best is to log on with AOL and then start Netscape and/or Microsoft Internet Explorer.

But AOL is useless for some of us who need to do things other than use AOL mail and surf the web. Some of us need to use our corporate email and perhaps some trickier things. That's why we need pure IP access which a real ISP gives us and AOL doesn't.

I also use AOL sometimes because it is much easier to configure (or not to configure) and their network is really extensive.
I just get online with it and after that, I minimize it and use Outlook Express to get email from my ISP (AT&T WorldNet) and use IE.
Sony's Net arm, So-net, started a free GRIC access worldwide (except U.S.) if you pay a monthly charge of 2,000 yen. This is perhaps limited to those who have a credit card address in Japan.
