At DFW, Hyatt or Sheraton?
Could anyone be kind enough to comment on the Hyatt and Sheraton airport hotels?
I have top-tier elite status with SPG and Hyatt and wonder what I can expect when I stay there in early Sept.
Thanks.

I like the Sheraton DFW quite a bit. I don't think it is "70's" at all. I have stayed there often and always receive great service. If you want a butler, then you shouldn't be staying at Sheratons anyway. The Hyatt is actually on the airport property whereas the Sheraton is a short drive....they do have a bus...so if you need to be at the airport go with the Hyatt. Oh, the Hyatt is overpriced too, as most Hyatts are.

Chiangi,
I have stayed at the DFW Hyatt twice this summer even though I only live about 5 miles from the airport. Once was for a convention and the other was just for the point promotion. It's nothing special but the rooms are nice and a little larger than the Sheraton's rooms. In addition to parking at the hotel which is comped (just get the front desk to validate your parking ticket) there is access to the hotel by airport train, Hyatt vans, and is walkable from Terminal C (old 3E). The hotel consists of twin towers, one on each side of the airport. They will almost always put you on the East side. In fact, they are planning to tear down the west tower and build a new Hyatt in the future international terminal. I'm only Platinum with Hyatt so I don't know what you will get as an ammenity. Note, there is no Regency Club at the hotel. If you will be traveling around the metroplex alot, the Sheraton will be a little more convenient. My father stays there often and as Platinum always gets upgraded to the "Butler" floor. The hotel is a little tired but so is the Hyatt. I have to agree with Quietlion, the Sheraton it does have a retro seventies feel to it and I'm not sure why the name Grand is used. Hope this helps.

I've never stayed at the Sheraton, but the Hyatt can be very noisy in some rooms. Perhaps that is the side they are planning to tear down. I agree with the other posters that the Hyatt is convenient if you have a short stay, early morning flight, or don't plan on leaving the airport. Otherwise I'd avoid it.
