Grenada anyone?
I admit I've been lurking for a while... but now I need some help!
I am wondering what Grenada is like - specifically for a honeymoon. I am considering going there, but have no idea where to start with accommodations, things to do and see, etc. Anybody have any tips?
And, if you think I'm nuts for wanting to go to Grenada, anybody have any other suggestions for places to go? I'm looking for places that are reasonably priced and not too "Americanized." Thanks!

Was there 2 years ago, as the last couple days of my honeymoon. We had done a windjammer cruise that ended there. Don't recall the name of the hotel we stayed at (only 1 nite waiting for the flight) but it was between the airport and the main city (St Georges?) That area has the best beaches and hotels. I'd bet that Grenada has a tourist bureau in NY or DC. I'll see what I can dig up. It was a fun island that doesn't see alot of American tourists. Enjoy.

Well, I'm hoping that we won't have an invasion while I'M down there!
Any additional info would be greatly appreciated... I've found a few websites with photos and such, but I definitely don't want to mess this up!

Contact me by email with the names. I have a friend who knows the hotels there. He just returned from a 3 week trip to his homeland. I remember a few from my trip there but prefer to defer to him.

I finally heard from my friend who went to Grenada. It seems like he extended his vacation because he met a lovely lady while there. He is back home and plans to move to NY in a few weeks to be with her!
Email me and I will give you more detailed info on places to stay.

There was a long article on Grenada in the Travel Section of the New York Times last Sunday, 13 August.
As a youth in the 40's, I specialized in the collection of stamps from Grenada, and ofter corresponded with the postmaster at St. George, the capitol. I have often thought of going there; but St. Marteens is as close as I ever got to it. I recommend it as an alternative.
