Hotel in Angkor

Could anyone recommend a good hotel in Angkor?

The Ta Prohm hotel was perfectly acceptable in 1995 (in fact it was the best hotel in Siem Reap at the time). Clean, comfortable, secure and very friendly. They charged about USD80 a night then (during the eclipse, so that was absolute top of the market).

The Grande Hotel d'Angkor is now reopened, and it is supposed to be exquisite. But so are the prices. If you can afford it, do it.

The 3/5/00 New York Times travel section covers Angkor Wat.
