Skipping the coffee?
A university studied the water quality on planes. You may want to skip the coffee on these two airlines

The problem is that the potable tanks are not purged and flushed often enough. So bacteria has the perfect place to grow... I suspect if you could get into the tank, you'd prob find orange slime everywhere.
The tanks need to be flushed more than once every few months... As well as the water dispensers.
Personally, this is why I bring my own water bottle.

One other thing. Wash your hands with soapy water... Then use hand sanitizer once you get back to your seat. Not everyone washes their hands while in the lavatory... So the door mechanisms aren't that safe either... And yes, gross.....

The article ignores the fact that tea and coffee are both served hot on airlines and the water is heated to or near the boiling point, temperatures beyond which most pathogens do not survive.
