Break up reason
One of my pals stopped dating someone because, and I quote: "We had incompatible airline frequent flyer schemes, I'm Star Alliance and he was One World. Would have never worked."
I think this is the best breakup reason ever.
Are Star Alliance people that different from One World? ;-)
I collect Avios but Virgin Miles too. I'm Miles-Curious.

There was a girl I was dating that was a diehard (and stubborn) Delta frequent flyer and wasn't open to flying AA, as I did for my domestic flying. It was part of the reason why I slipped from OW Emerald whilst I was seeing her, although I did build up DL status. I won't lie, I was quite happy for my OW FF balance when we broke up

fortunately for me, i met my partner before any allegiance and thus forced BA upon him. his partner silver card and all the other perks have made him a happy man. hahha.
but ugh, dating a star alliance person? yeah, see you when we get there...and it wont be many times

Having been married for a number of years, I am more than happy to be flying on a different airline to my wife, preferably to a different destination...

Exact same situation with my wife. My issue is getting her to see the worth of spending money on J. She can sleep in the middle of a Dash-8!

My partner and I have the same BAEC renewal date, which I consider to be far more important for compatibility than star signs.
Never shall we have the but _I_ dont need the tier points, why dont we go to xxx next month? debate.

Mrs W had no allegiance to an airline before we got married, thankfully I timed signing her up to BAEC so that she and I have the same renewal date.
Unfortunately for me, she still doesn't quite get the concept of "can we go away the week after instead, I don't need any more points this year, and neither do you!".

Oh dear, heres a minefield! Fortunately weve been married for 38 years, have the same BA renewal date and pool our Avios in the HHA. As nearly all her shopping is on the partner card, I end up paying the Amex bill ... which means very month I creep into her overfilled Bank account and transfer it to the pool savings account ... from which I transfer money to MY account to buy flights and hotels and stuff.
Now ... what was the question? And what is dating?
