Overhead bins

Why are people so sloppy? They stuff the overhead bins with their carry-ons with the wheels to the side rather than in first and horizontal rather vertical. Does their fear of touching apply to their suitcases as well?

Sometimes I wonder why I pay for priority boarding, and I realize it’s not because of airline policy or even common sense. It’s because how people act, not everyone of course, but a seemingly increasing portion of them.

Often I don’t bring a carry-on bag. It’s okay for me to do it, but mostly the smaller personal item will do. But almost always I’m told to put it under the seat in front of me. It can not go in the overhead bin unless I put it in a suitcase, which takes up more space.

Something is fundamentally wrong here!
