My first crossing to Europe was on a small ocean liner. New York-Le Havre took ten days. I was seasick for the first day.
The return journey was on a piston-powered prop plane, Le Bourget (Paris)-Shannon, Ireland-Gander, Newfoundland-Idlewild (New York). My family was seated at the bulkhead, which meant we had to balance our meals on pillows -- there weren't any other trays.

E-170 -190 has become my favorite short-haul ride. No middles in the back and 1x2 up front. Overhead bins big enough for my carry-on and enough headroom to stand up in the aisle.
I slightly prefer Airbii over Boeing in the narrowbodies. B767 and B787 over Airbii in the widebodies. But none of these opinions are strong enough to make me take very suboptimal routings. They're merely tiebreaker type preferences.

These ERJ's are everywhere now. I do feel they have bigger seats than the CRJ's but I may only be imagining it.
There is really only 1 aircraft I avoid like the plague...the 757. Talk about being a sardine in a can! Luckily there are less and less of them around.
