Excess baggage allowances

On my next trip to Chisinau, Moldova (KIV) from Manchester airport I will need to carry over the free baggage allowance. I normally fly there by Turkish Airways and Lufthansa, using a connection in Ataturk or at Munich (for Lufthansa).

But I can't make any sense of the Turkish Airways information on this topic. There is a section on their website for excess baggage on international flights. And it seems that Chisinau is Zone 1 (presumably from Ataturk and not Manchester!). Beyond this, there appears to be nothing.

Is there anyone who can help? As I say, normally I go from Manchester to Ataturk by Turkish Airways. Then from Ataturk to Chisinau, Moldova.

I've not yet looked at the Lufthansa website advice on their excess baggage fees as I use them less.

And what in the experience of posters is the best or cheapest carrier within Europe when it comes to excess baggage fees?

Best wishes.
