Insane Plane Crash Video from my trip to Europe

Hey guys. My wife and I are in Europe (flew Singapore Suites JFK-FRA) and had a crazy experience that I need to share.

We were taking a tour of Skadar Lake in Montenegro when a small police firefighting plane attempted to land on the water. Unfortunately, he forgot to take his landing gear up and the plane flipped over. Our little boat was closest and we actually ended up rescuing the pilot, who was fine. The craziest part was that my wife actually got the whole thing on video. I make a very short cameo (you can hear me say "uh oh" and I am in a blue shirt at the 16 second mark).

Check them out on my wife's YouTube. There are 2 videos, one of the crash and one of the rescue. Enjoy!

Rescue

Most of the Seattle aircraft on floats are Kenmore Air Beavers and Otters, which are not amphibians. From the OP, this incident was caused by a water bomber trying to skim the surface of the lake to pick up a load of water; because the pilot left the landing gear down, the gear dug into the water and flipped the aircraft over.

You are correct. It was an amphibian plane. I'm not certain if he was just going to skim the water to pick up water or land, pick up water, and then take off again. The point is moot since he left his landing gear down, which caused the plane to flip over.

Riveting video. Also, apart from the incident, appears to be a very lovely place.
