Open jaw - rules

Hi,
I am laurent, I join your community to get some explication about airfare rules.

The last flight I did was cancelled, Air france give me 2 voocher 2x800€ for the next flight (allowed air france or KLM). I am now looking for the next flight (3 peoples).

I would like to go to central americas in july.

I was looking for round trip on air france's website (about 1000€) :
TLS-MGA-TLS (380€+669€) 02/07/15 until 28/07/15
TLS-SJO-TLS (637€+331€) 02/07/15 until 28/07/15
TLS-PTY-TLS (653€+315€) 02/07/15 until 28/07/15

The price is a bit expansive with round trip so I would like to combine low fare of the first segment TLS MGA and the second segment of SJO-TLS or PTY-TLS.

I try open jaw but it doesn't work well on ita matrix (for the same flight shown below).
TLS-MGA and SJO-TLS (1238€)
TLS-MGA and PTY-TLS (1324€)

On air france's website :
TLS-MGA 02/07/15 (AF7529, AF682, DL369) and SJO-TLS 28/07/15 (CM796, AF475, AF7522) => 701€
TLS-MGA 02/07/15 (AF7529, AF682, DL369) and PTY-TLS 28/07/15 (AF475,AF7522) =>1044€

For the first it works but not for the second that's strange because the segment SJO-TLS have the same flight AF475,AF7522.

rules of TLS-MGA :

I'm not on a PC at the moment to try it but according to the fare rules you posted, it certainly should be possible. I do this quite often with TK fares with very similar language in the fare rules.

Try it with a couple of actual booking sites and see what you come up with. Expedia and Priceline are both solid and should give you an idea of whether an OTA can do it with these AF fares or not. If all else fails, it'd be worth taking to an actual travel agent if the price different is that much. I often do a mix of TK A fares one way and J fares returning so unfortunately I had to seek out a real travel agent for those, I'm still waiting for the day that some OTA starts doing more advanced online ticketing, if it can be done in a GDS, no reason it can't be done online.

I've tried with expedia and priceline, it doesn't work.
The price is quit similar between the 2 example I just want to understand why.

Thank's for your help.

It'd be worth phoning up a good travel agent and explain what you want to do and see what they can come up with.
