Are you really required to follow all crew member instructions if safety or the orderly operation of the aircraft is not a consideration? What exactly would be considered interfering with a flight crew? In this situation would you actually be arrested for failure to move from your assigned seat?

In any case, DXB-SEA is a long flight. Bulkhead vs. middle seat on that flight makes a big difference. OP should've requested a J/F seat, especially since he's 6'4" or requested the mother go sit in back. Too bad the FAs wasn't more attuned to crocodile tears.

Im a self-proclaimed "Non seat mover". 99% of the time when asked to change seats I simply say "No thank you". You can imagine the shade thrown and the dirty looks, but frankly I don't care. I pick my seats online, I verify about a thousand times, and once settled that's where I stay. I'm also well over 6' like OP. BUT, in this case, I would have moved. Breast fed baby trumps all. Not to mention I wouldn't want 10 + hours next to a baby.

Flew to Sydney with a baby and had arranged seats well in advance next to bassinet and all together. Some planning was required.
Here looks like the woman's partner just did not get his act together reserving the right seats.
I can tell you my wife's last worry is anyone watching here when breastfeeding. What is there to watch anyway apart from a great unique mother baby bond. If the baby is hungry, mum goes in shadow mode and nothing around here is important, all that is important is to have the baby fed. Toilet is no option guys, that's a nasty suggestion as both mother and child need some comfort and as breast feeding is tiring sometimes both fall a sleep. That gave me time to nibble my SQ sling...

Very unfair. Breastfeeding is not a good enough reason to have someone move. There are very discreet ways of doing this and if the mom was uncomfortable, that was her problem.
Yes - feeding in a lav is not a good idea. Even though this would not mean anything in this situation, businesses that are required to have a place for breastfeeding women are not allowed to use a lavatory for that purpose - for hygiene purposes.
Not sure why everyone thinks the husband made the flight arrangements.....it could have been the woman and she just wasn't able to get the seats together or didn't plan far enough in advance.

With the politically correct world we live today, the FA had her hand forced. If they had ignored the womens complaints or told her to cover up/go to the bathroom, it could have easily ended up in the newspapers and the airline would have looked insensitive to womens issues.
You got screwed over by a manipulative woman. Hard to blame the FA or airline. They could have been hammered in the media over this.

I was travelling Dubai to Seattle and selected a bulk head seat for advanced leg room. There was a lady travelling with an infant, along with another lady and her child seated in our row. Upon boarding the female with the infant asked me if I could switch my seats with her husband as they wish to sit together. Considering that this is a very long flight and Im very tall (6"4') I politely declined for the extra leg room since the husband was seated further up in a window seat.
Within a few hours of my journey I was told that by the FA that this passenger is feeling uncomfortable because she was nursing her baby. Basically without directly pointing fingers I was accused of staring at her [Moderator edit]. The FA told me that it is in everyones best interests that to relocate my seat and was sent to another aisle seat down the corridor. I politely protested and it fell on deaf ears so eventually complied with her instructions.
However a few hours later I notice that the husband has now conveniently relocated himself to my original seat. I called the FA to show her what's going on but she didn't seem to care as apparently the matter was resolved and still seem to side with the lady hinting that I might have been "looking at her side unknowingly and these things happen." It seemed like she was preoccupied with her duties and didn't bother trying to connect the dots or hear my side of story.
Did I got taken for a ride or was this justified?

1. I think this is the first time on FT that a poster complained about being moved AWAY from a lap infant and a small child unrelated to him!
2. Second, I'm not sure which version OP flew in, but Seatguru
shows most (with one or two exceptions, but the exceptions have normal legroom) bulkhead rows are also exit rows.
This brings up several questions. Lap infants and children are not allowed in exit rows, therefore they must have been seated in the middle section. Exactly where was the OP seated? I'm assuming he was seated in the middle section? If so, I'm going to say row 37/38 in a 777-300 three class version.
None of the other middle section bulkhead rows really looks like comfortable seats for a 6'4 guy.
Unless he was legitimately seated in either the left or the right section....
