Travel Groups
I did a search and nothing came up so I thought I would start a thread.
Anyone in a travel group? I am in 3 Facebook groups where we exchange travel info, do meetups, find/post deals, and generally chat about travel and trips.
I was just curious if anyone else is in any groups and if they are open or closed?
Mine are:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/lettherebetravel/
https://www.facebook.com/travelettes
The 3rd im in is a closed group.

I have to agree with DavidDTW - all of FT is one large travel group open to all qualified members and arranged so as to attract many different travel sub-interests.
For meetups, the CommunityBuzz forum hosts many for members, around the globe. Some are intimate -- only a few members -- others attract scores of members.
For airlines, hotels, rental cars and credit cards, the forums under the Miles and Points category focus on the interests of frequent users of those travel providers, and the many under the Travel heading focus on particular destinations as well as special-interest travel.
Many personal friendships have arisen because of member participation in a variety of forums and FT activities.

Specific Travel Groups
As for the OP's question about being in travel groups?
FT itself is, of course, a travel group.
Many of us belong to other facbeook groups (many are secret or closed) related to specific travel programs, mileage runs, etc.
