Claiming travel insurance - proof of ownership

So, I have travel insurance for my upcoming trip and was wondering incase I loose my luggage are photos that I take of the contents of my pack enough for proof of ownership? I don't believe I have the receipts for some of the items.

There will always be some loophole I am sure as to why insurance won't pay out.

I can't imagine that they would be. Who's to say you didn't take a picture of somebody else's stuff, for example, a friend's Rolex instead of your Timex*?

Good Q, OP. Call the insurance company before your trip for specific answers.
