This is 100% the GA's fault for allowing the scammer to bring the bag onboard in the first place. If there were strict & consistent enforcement of the carry-on rules, this silliness would not occur.

We should have a sizer or something at the gate...or,,,,,how about at the security checkpoint before the gate...even better....

What rollar does not fit in the 737-900 bins and fits completely under the seat?
And putting it down in an exit row? What non-compliant rollar fits under a seat at all? None of this makes much sense to me. As to who is at fault, pax 2 has blame but so does pax 1 if his bag as non-compliant. |
This discussion is more of a "generic sneak" vs a "United sneak" as it happens with all airlines so I'm going to move this thread over to TravelBuzz

Forget any of this. Lets talk about coach passengers who put their bags in FC and then disappear into the back. This bugs me so much, as one perk of buying FC is that I can board at the last second and have overhead space.
My wife was mad at me one time as someone coming in when FC was already boarded started shoving our bags around roughly to try and fit his oversized bag in so I called the flight attendant over. If you want to put your bag in FC buy a freaking FC ticket. /rant |

Sorry, mate, that is an incredibly arrogant and DYKWIA thing to postulate. Touch my junk, you will get serious pushback.

Flat out, if the bin is full, use another bin or it goes under YOUR seat...not mine. Duffel bag guy should've put his own bag under the seat in front of him.

I guess I'm guilty of being "sneaky" as well.
I was in first class on a 757 a couple of weeks ago. I didn't board early because I arrived at the airport very late. By the time I boarded, the overhead bins were all full. My seatmate told me that one of the large carry-on bags belongs to some guy back in coach who just stuffed it in there. I pulled it out and told the FA that I wanted it gate-checked. I then put my own carry-on in the overhead. |

I feel the person that turned the bag the proper way is right. It sounds like the rollaboard is too large and should have been checked. They are supposed to fit wheels or handle first, not sideways.

Thats why i asked what the intent of your post was. I think the late boarding passenger did exactly what he should have done. I dont see anything sneaky about that at all.
Really? Perhaps when I need a parking space at the mall, I should just wait until you go inside, then kick your car into neutral, roll it into the middle of road so I can park, and have your car towed away for blocking the road? Nothing sneaky about that either, I suppose? |
