Might have a problem with fellow passengers with a peanut allergy.

Or just hold off eating that much for the 12 or so hours that a long haul flight is.

If you don't want to take any chances, my personal preference for snacks to bring on-board are fruit (think apples/bananas, not peaches), chocolate or some nut mix. I would not get a sandwich that can get soggy, but there are plenty of alternatives (a quiche, croissant, etc).
