What happens when Russia blocks its airspace?
MODS: When this is the wrong subforum can you move it to the right one ?
Due to the Russian invasion in Ukraine the US and EU will tighten sanctions against Russia, which will result in extra countersanctions from Russia. That may include closing Russian airspace for EU and US airlines is my guess.
This will affect flights between Europe and SE Asia moderately as they can only fly over the Black Sea - Iran - Pakistan corridor as the ISIS areas like Iraq and Syria are already closed.
But flights to NE Asia (China, Korea, Japan) will get tougher so the shortest way will be the Anchorage route as was in the previous cold war.
What are your thoughts ?
