90% Leisure for me, 90% on BA. Maybe 8 Euro trips and 2 or 3 LH a year.
BA suits me as I'm not too far from LHR and thanks to FT I get a bed at 34,000 feet a couple of times a year

Visiting GF mostly.

Used to fly CA and so *A only. I've found CX is quite more economical, so I've been flying them basically all the time now and I'm liking the OW choices.

I fly to get from A to B as enjoyably as possible so I can have a holiday. I dont care about airline loyalty. I go on whatever aifline I want to experience, what looks good and what connections and flying times suit me.

I was doing pretty boring, rote work. My manager spoke to another manager who needed manpower. Suggested me since I expressed interest in travel and doing more than just IT support. Been doing it since May and I love it. Doesn't hurt that apparently business travel isn't actually seen as great by most folks, so those of us who do it are often praised for it. It's hard to say "yeah, it's tough but I make it work" when 99% of the time it really ain't that bad. Although I don't have kids or a girlfriend or anything so that helps.

Apart from things like getting to see new towns, work with new people, and not sit at the same drab cube all week, it's nice racking up points and miles. I figure I'll have enough for a great European or South American vacation by the end of next year... in at least B or F. I figure most of my travel right now is work, and in coach, but that's not too bad given the length of my flights and the fact that the company pays for part of economy plus.

Now I want even more travel. I'm seeing a lot of small town America but I want to see some bigger cities. Better mileage on those flights too. I also heard rumors we're looking at expanding internationally... I would not mind spearheading those efforts.

It's my commute to work

Many people take the bus to and from work, I just happen to take an Airbus.

To have additional opportunities that enrich -- materially or otherwise -- others and myself. And I have a restless spirit of curiosity about the world at large -- a spirit which drives me to exercise and celebrate my freedom to travel as and how I find it suitable for me.

Because otherwise I'd go insane. I am a full time law student and I also work full time at night to pay for it. Without a trip a month my life would be school/work/sleep, wash/rinse/repeat. Travel gives me a little something to look forward to. Plus they're nice enough to give us the occasional break and who wants to sit at home?

I feel like a lot of us dream of being Anthony Bourdain.

Somewhere between half and three-quarters of my air travel is for work. I'm on a sales team, so I travel to meet with prospects and customers, and to support my company at industry events like trade shows. The rest is leisure travel, which I engage in because I enjoy visiting friends and relatives far away, seeing natural beauty, and experiencing different cultures.

Often people say that traveling frequently for work makes one less inclined to travel in his free time. Burnout, etc. That's true at the extremes, but I am in a position where I find the opposite to be true (as one or two others in this thread have also noted): Traveling frequently for work has made me more likely to fly for leisure trips.

I figure there are two reasons for this. One, regular business travel normalizes the process of flying. I'm quite adept making reservations, packing, and navigating airports and ground transport-- things that flummox a lot of other people. Two, my business travel helps me accumulate points and status that make my leisure travel less expensive and more comfortable.

I love to travel, but only for leasure. I love the excitement of being in an airport, that starbucks smell in the terminal, the clacking noise of rollaboards on tile, the whirl of airplane engines. The hustle and bustle, great stuff!

I hate traveling for work though, I am in a position where I travel once a year for a conference and it is once a year too many if you ask me.

For leasure so far this year I have only flown to New York at the end of May. Saw the USA vs Turkey soccer game. Then this fall is a good one. Have two multi-city routings set up.

First one is the first weekend in October. Flying to Salt lake city and Seattle to watch two womens college volleyball games. The flights are paid for by some of my sign up bonus for the Southwest credit card. Flying to see a college volleyball game on points. Not many people in the world do that.

Then middle of November my biggest trip yet. Flying to London and Dublin. I want to see the England vs Slovenia game at Wembley, if I have the money I want a seat close to the field so I can yell abuse at the English players. Then a few days later I will be in Dublin for the USA vs Ireland soccer game.

Feel like I am living a dream, hopefully the dream will continue. After my TATL trip I will have enough miles in my AA account to fly Qantas one way in first, the other way in economy and I will book that ASAP before the AAdvantage partner chart is gutted. Want to be able to say I have flown in F on an Airbus 380. Bigtime experience right there.

90% work travel, mainly domestic US anymore (Blech...). I would travel more for leisure, but my wife actually likes being home, which I cannot comprehend, as home is boring.

Living vicariously through -- or being fascinated by (if they are even different) -- the adventures/travels of others has probably been with human beings for just about as long as there have been talking/gesticulating travelers and storytellers -- straight on from the pre-historic era of humanity.

I would not want to be Bourdain (or anyone else but myself), even as I enjoy watching his shows and find his willingness to eat stuff interesting -- but it's just not for me.

I fly primarily for work. I teach / proctor doctors in the use of a new and somewhat complex surgical product. Half of my flights are to Europe and the other half are to South America.

Since I started traveling for work I have been doing more leisure flying as well. Last year I flew to SLC for a ski trip, DC to visit family and see the sights with the wife, and Chicago for a combo work / fun trip. Next year I'm going to fly somewhere exotic and interesting with my wife. I just have to convince here that it will be more fun than doing a basic Europe trip with her. The plan is to use at least half of the points I have accrued in the last 18 months.

All leisure travel myself, mainly US Domestic. I used to manage to make at least one, usually two, smaller trips each month. Thought the last few years I have only made a handful of trips the entire year. As for why, well, part of it is I just love being on a plane looking out the window - amazing how I can do that for a 4 or 5 hour flight. But I also just love the whole choreography of being in an airport, connecting flights - although sometimes it drives me nuts. And yet again I sometimes love to explore a city outside the tourist destinations and sights. And then sometimes I just sit at the hotel looking out across the ocean at a rising moon...
