Will my return leg be canceled?

My wife & I are one PRN. I may not be able to make the outgoing flight and will either take a one-way to meet her or may not be able to go at all. Will the return leg be canceled because I don't show up for the flight? If it is not canceled and I get a one-way will I be able to use the return I'm on?
Thanks!

Wouldn't it be cheaper to change your flight to when you would be able to make the outgoing leg and eat the change fee than buy a separate one way?

Do to business I can't pin the exact date down and it is possible I won't be able to go at all. Unfortunately it is going to be last minute. I guess my other option it to eat the whole ticket and buy my wife a RTT and then play it be ear for myself.

Your wife's ticket will be ok. Your return will be canceled if you don't take the outbound flights.

Without the carrier and fare basis, nobody can give you accurate advice beyond generalizations. So, please post those.

Generally speaking, if you no show for a segment on restricted tickets, the entire ticket is cancelled and you purchase a new one. The fact that your wife may have the same PNR doesn't mean she has the same ticket and it's unlikely -- although details matter -- that her ticket will be affected.

Most employers pick up the costs associated with these changes.

They are two different ticket numbers. It is DL and fare codes are P & A we are traveling in F. It is not a business trip but pleasure, business may keep me from going.

1. DL will cancel the reservations when you no show for a segment. Whether the ticket retains any value depends on the specific A or P fare which you purchased. Check the fare conditions for an accurate answer or call DL.

2. Since you are on two tickets, your wife will remain unaffected by your actions.

3. As noted earlier, if business prevents you from taking a scheduled leisure trip, most businesses will reimburse or otherwise cover the financial costs incurred by the employee.

LOL. Yeah, right. Some large businesses and government organizations. Small to medium businesses will usually just ask you if you want to keep your job.
