http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserR...-Brussels.html "The location leaves a lot to be desired, unless you happen to be a free-lance exotic dancer. Nestled in a district of sex shops and strip clubs, the area attracts the sort of people that you would cross the street to avoid." gnore the bad reviews unless your after 5* luxury! Brilliant location! nice, helpful enough staff! outdated décor (but I didn't go to Brussels for the hotel room) We spent two nights there yes it maybe wasn't the cleanest or the most exciting (however, the lift was great) but FOR THE PRICE WE PAID we COULDNT moan, massive double opening window with a view of Brussels, Bar round the corner and shops nearby. Main square 5-10 mins walk, manneken pis 10-15 min walk all sign posted!! Sleep quality was great! (Belgium beer helped!) really quiet room on a busy street! rooms basic but adequate! |

This place in Ibiza has some interesting reviews. Though you do kind of wonder what some of these people were expecting, I mean it is Ibiza

Most bizarre review title, for the Naval Museum in Madrid:
“Excellent Historical Alternative to shopping” |

From a Yelp review for a Sushi Restaurant in Las Vegas:
No good service. No good food. Owner is Unpleasant expression She is very angry face. Uncomfortable . |
Been quite a while since I read it, but do remember a no stars review for the Palace hotel in San Fran....because he ate lunch in one of their restaurants and they took longer than expected to deliver his burger. He never even stayed at the hotel!

There is a place we stayed in Freeport, Bahamas--Island Seas Resort. Its a timeshare place that friends took us. We had fun because of the group, but the place was a dump.
All of the bad reviews (legit) are fun to read. They are all on point. Then you hit a GOOD review. They are stunning....clearly fake....they read like Masters Degree literature. Explaining why its good that the service is so poor. Makes me laugh every time. Spent a week here. Housekeeping was good, front desk okay, security better after we were robbed in the parking lot after dark. Perpetrators got away in a car after we chased them and threw our heave conch shells at the car hitting it with one on the passenger rear window and one on the roof. |
Here is one I just read about a hotel in the middle of nowhere, but close to KLIA.
The shuttle bus is free. I stayed here because I was hopping out of Thailand and going back in for visa purposes. I just wanted one night near the airport to catch my plane back to Thailand first thing in the morning. Big mistake. Although I was up on time, when I went down to the lobby to check out and catch a cab I was told that there are no taxis that service the airport - I would have to take the shuttle bus which leaves every 20 minutes or so to KLIA. What? No taxis at an airport hotel. This is either a joke or a scam to gouge revenue from guests trying to get to the airport. At any rate, I ended up having to wait for this ridiculous shuttle bus (it left late and the driver wasn't in any hurry to get going) and, as a result of staying AT AN AIRPORT HOTEL I wasn't able to check in on time and thus had to reschedule my flight. Did I cut it a bit close? Maybe due to the fact that I was close to the airport but to not provide taxis to guests who need to get to the airport when that is the ONLY reason anyone would stay there is beyond stupidity. Had I had access to a taxi instead of this ridiculously scheduled, hotel operated shuttle I would have been able to check in on time. Instead, I had to book another flight. Joke of a hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE AN EARLY FLIGHT. Absolutely surreal. |
This one has it all, hilarious lost in translation quotes and my favorite, the statement that the reviewer has nothing good to say about the hotel, then concluding with good things to say about the hotel :D
“visit san antonio but don't stay at Hyatt regency” 1 of 5 stars there is nothing good i can write about this hotel until and unless you are ready to shell out heavy tips everyday to get good service. each staff member will give you different information and whenever they say, will attend to you in 5 minutes, please don't expect them before 1 hour, that also if you remind them several times. i made complained about overflowing of my bath tub on the very fist day, during my entire 8 days stay this was never resolved. at check in i was informed 2 bottles of free water every day, on 6th-7th day i notice they are not replacing water bottles in my room and i was informed, it's not free and i need to pay extra usd 5/ bottle. with final bill there were no charges for water bottles and right so. but this shows poor training of their staff. Bell boy will take your luggage and will go missing for hours. hotel does have good points too, valet parking staff good and efficient. |
review of a hotel located next to the main piazza in Siena - as good as it gets.
french woman gives it 1* solely because she has to drag her luggage for 10 minutes on cobblestone streets to get to it. uhm....yes... the walled off medieval part of the city with 2m wide streets restricts vehicular traffic to residents only. if you want a car to door service, feel free to book a hotel half way to Florence. or, you know, pay for a 10€ Taxi which is allowed to operate in the ztl zone. the stupidity of some people.... |
I always enjoy it when management takes a bad reviewer to task:
"We would like to respond to the review by the recent guest from the UK. Our entire staff agrees that this was singularly the most difficult guest situation that we have ever encountered in our nearly five year history. His criticism, we feel, is undeserved; nevertheless, we are researching and addressing his issues in our efforts to continuously improve quality and service. Paulette's serves wonderful, full gourmet breakfasts which are included in the price of the River Inn Hotel room rate. Many guests express to us that breakfast is the highlight of their visit from both a food and service standpoint. We regret this guest was disappointed, and we offer our apologies. We do, however, feel this criticism is heavy-handed, especially since we made every effort to offer gluten-free items. Unfortunately, gluten-free offerings, in general, are not very tasty. The entire Paulette's operation was criticized without the guest even trying anything other than breakfast. We trust that past and future guests will understand that this is an isolated, undeserved review. Our No. 1 tripadvisor rating is an indication that our guests are extremely pleased and satisfied with all aspects of the River Inn. We are confident that this particular criticism is a very unusual exception." http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUse...Tennessee.html http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUse...ECK_RATES_CONT I am very fond of the line "unfortunately, gluten-free offerings, in general, are not very tasty". It may not be entirely accurate, but it mirrors my biases exactly. :p |
