Funniest things you have read on Tripadvisor
Just to piggy back on the "non reliable" tripadvisor thread, I thought it would be fun to start a thread and list the stupidest things you have read in a review on tripadvisor. Things that make you wonder how the author has lived to an age where they can actually travel alone. Here are a few gems that I have seen (not word for word, but general statements). I always wonder how they find tripadvisor AFTER their trip, but not before.
Hotel was horrible and ruined my trip. Did not tell me the sun was more intense in Mexico, causing me to sunburn on my first day and ruin my trip. You have been warned, wear sunscreen.
This motel 6 ruined my honeymoon. Haha, enough said.
Will never return to this hotel because there are homeless people everywhere in this city.
Hotel insisted on holding $50 a day in case I ruined something.
Will never stay in this hotel again. The casino is tight, and will take all of your money.
The buses in this city take forever and do not stick to their timetables.
Tour company did not warn me that I would get wet during the river rafting trip. It ruined my $300 leather handbag.
Do not rent from this car rental company. They will force you to buy their gas, which is twice the price of gas everywhere else.
Hotel staff stole my eye serum and face cream. I am lucky they did not steal my jewelry or laptop.
Do not stay in this hotel. They will force you to take their timeshare tour, and you will have to spend thousands of dollars to get away from them after ruining your entire day.
To sum it up, a cute cartoon I recently had posted in my office. Common sense is not a gift, it is a curse. You have to deal with everyone who does not have it.

As a previous Destination Expert on TA
I have to say lots of stupid and funny posts on TA.
What I find the biggest joke is that TA is governed by business, TA is part of a huge conglomerate, and they run TA as a way of directing business to their other sites.
Any time you bring to their attention that certain posts are soliciting business, you get ignored, as those business owners are paying for adverts etc.
While TA can be a great resource, it is a rort.

We're currently on holiday in Thailand.
I've been monitoring the reviews of the hotel for several weeks and they are all 4 and 5 (mainly a well deserved 5).
A couple of weeks ago a 2* review appeared.
Full of "they wouldn't upgrade us even though we were on honeymoon" "they wouldn't do x even though we were on honeymoon" etc.
Obviously this doesn't fall into the category of funniest things but the sense of entitlement was breathtaking.

Wow!
Also another crazy thing that people place on tripadvisor: Random photos are also posted with the hotel review. Just don't understand why someone would post an unrelated vacation photo that doesn't even show the inside (or even outside!) of hotel.
