Thanks again.. my feet are brilliant for not stinking. I only intended to sleep upright anyway. I was just a bit concerned (newly gold member) that I was out of order, after seeing nobody else asleep.

It was a few years ago, but at least one of the UL lounges at CMB had individual rooms (chairs, not beds) for resting. Also, an LH lounge at MUC had a room with a few futons/mattresses/something of that nature, with pillows.
Other lounges I've seen with recliner-types foolishly placed those only in rooms where movies were playing.

I've had staff make a bed for me from lounge chairs and a coffee table in Doha and give me a blanket and pillow. Sleep if you feel like it. At the Malaysia Airlines lounge in their relaxation room they suggest you leave your boarding pass on the table next to you so that they know when you're leaving.

I sleep in lounges on long layovers but am conscious that while unconscious there is a great risk of theft. I prefer the lounges with secure luggage storage. I also set my smartphone alarm to wake me for the flight. Please accept my apologies in advance for the snoring.

Please guys, stop sleeping in lounges
I know.. life is expensive and everybody has hard times but think about the people arriving in the lounge at 5 in the morning and feel that the place is an hostel. Not nice.
I really don't understand this, was the case in ath this morning and in IST everytime i go there. People are sleeping almost everywhere... especially in the sofa in ATH (no shoes, a plaid, etc)... looks like a camping camp.
Should be nice the lounges employees to bring back some rules. It used to be places with a kind of etiquette... now it's not the case anymore. So please... if you have a long stopover >>>> hotel.

sleeping tunes are such a wonderful idea. While I totally agree with the topic starter, I've had 3 hours layovers more than twice this month and I needed some sleep in those cases. Not flatbed or shoeless or anything just a quick nap at a couch.
In any case, you are absolutely right that the place can look like a camp from time to time.

I arrive at 4am later this month...departing at c.7am...
My body will be working on a timezone 2 hour before these times...
I expect I will fall asleep at some point!
I agree with you about lounges looking like campsites - it's not the right appearance.

Regarding sleeping tubes, it's an airport stuff in my opinion (as in zurich for exemple). Why note, but i guess those people would not even pay 50 euro for the tube, it's a question of money... stingy people... they want everything for free.
