even then, at least under current common law in Canada, anything that goes to subjective intent, even if not in the agreement and even if there is an integration clause, would likely be admited as evidence to construe the intentions of the parties, especially if what is in the oral agreement is directly oposite of what was in the written one...

absolutely ridiculous!

I've never flown RyanAir and now I don't think I will bother since they're such buttheads!

Go ahead and sue me!

I can't speak about the blog posts but after watching the Channel 4 documentary, I don't see it as implausible and I haven't seen any hard evidence from Ryanair refuting the claim the documentary made.
A better example would be whether PAX should sue if Ryanair went online and libel them by name. A corporation has responsibilities; it also has rights.

I know this - I fly Ryanair regularly and I fly my children and grand children on them. I have zero issues with them over safety otherwise no way would I risk my family on them. Ryanair are good at what they do - they give the majority what they want. Low cost flights to some great destinations. This keeps costs on other carriers from not getting outrageous too.

That is a really, really serious allegation.
If the court said to hand it over they're going to.

The court can't force IB to hand over user data, can they?

I would expect any Internet service to protect my privacy unless criminal law has been broken.
Surely you didn't give FT any real information....

Remember that libel/slander/defamation suits are far more common in the UK than in the US because there are fewer free speech protections. Fortunately, under U.S. law, "the truth" is basically the ultimate defense against defamation. Saying bad things about RyanAir is fine for U.S. citizens, but it had better be true. Still, the costs of defending against one of these suits is high. As a jury consultant I've worked on a number of these kinds of cases and I can tell you they are quite scary for the individuals sued, even when the lawsuit are merit-less.
