Hold a reservation without using a travel agent

Hello,

Is there a way on AF/Delta and/or others to make and hold a reservation without using a travel agent? I know some airlines companies can offer you to hold the ticket for 1-2 days but not as long as the travel agent.
Thanks for any advice. Also if anyone has a travel agent they recommend in Singapore, please share.

Regards,
Daniel

Some airlines provide free "Hold" option that allows you to place most reservations on hold for up to 24 hours, but your fare should qualifies for this feature. This hold feature includes-
Hold your reservation upto 24 hrs
Coordinate your travel plans
Retrieve the reservation and purchase it via the site using a credit card

You have three options:
* Buy a refundable ticket. You can cancel any time.
* Buy trip insurance. You can cancel any time, but must meet the insurance restrictions.
* Buy any ticket. Must cancel within 24 hours of purchase.

This, I believe, is a rule that applies in the USA - but not necessarily in other countries. Some countries have laws that give consumers the right to cancel online purchases within a certain time frame. Other countries don't. And airline rules tend to be based on the laws of the country where the booking is being made.

So - I wouldn't necessarily rely on being able to cancel bookings within 24 hours.

This is very much not a universal thing. For point-of-sale in the USA there are rules about either being able to hold or refund for 24 hours so long as travel is 7+ days out but most of the rest of the world has no such rules.

Ua you can "hold" an award booking made by phone if you do not have enough miles for the whole trip in your account or if you "don't know your pin" an agent told me. I think you must transfer points/"find your pin" and call back within 24 hr.
