Articles such as this one always give me a chuckle. I did my first MR on TWA in 1982!

$665 on DL to get 14,000 elite miles is a mileage run????

Even earning 30,000 SkyPesos is not worth $665!

If it's the end of the year and makes a difference between Plat and Diamond, I'm sure a lot of people would go for it. The MR forum is filled with requests from people who ask how they can get X miles by EOY, some without regard to cost.

30K miles for $665 is 2.2¢ per RDM. People using SMs for partner awards to Australia or Asia might think that's a dandy deal. That's a J-class return for under $2,700 to Asia.
