Are the bathroom doors that confusing?

Other than not knowing how to open the door, remembering to lock it, or r remembering to shut the door, some people can't tell if arestroom is occupied, they keep wrestling with it.
Even if it appears unoccupied, I always knock first, just in case someone inside forgot to lock the door. It's common sense.
Whether it's in an aircraft, airport, a lounge or any public place, it's usually easy to tell if a lav is occupied without pulling/pushing or wrestling with the door.
If you can't tell whether it's occupied or not, knock gently. This way you can prevent an embarrassing situation inc ase someone forgot to lock it the door, or if the lock is defective.

I was recently on UA836 PVG to ORD and was seated in 33C (exit row), which is right in front of the bathrooms. I was surprised to see that so many travelers [comment removed by moderator] could not figure out how to open the door. Once passenger even got stock in the bathroom and could not figure out how to unlock the door.

Making fun of others provides me with a lot of extra self esteem and compensates for my shortcomings.
Now back to our regularly scheduled program of beating up on people because they don't fly 100 times a year. Talk about loooooo-sers.

I guess it can happen to anyone outside their "comfort zone". Remember what goes around comes around.
Sometimes those lav door locks can get stuck too, almost did on one of my trips abroad an LH aircraft. Avoided embarrassment....thank God
