A380 Business or 747 1st class

I have the opportunity to fly on the new A380-800 Route Lufthansa is offering from IAH - FRA On August 1st in business class.
I also have the option of flying out of ORD - FRA on United 747 in 1st class.

What's the consensus on business in the LH A380 V's 747 1st class, which is better?

If you want a flat bed seat, go for UA. LH sadly put the old style business class seats on the A380.

If you don't care about seating quality, go with LH for better service.

For me, it would be a no-brainer, I'd pick UA F. If you can do LH F, not Business, I would pick that over UA F in an instant.

+1 on the service.

I can't sleep on planes, even in lie-flat seats, so I'd pick LH.

I am going to say go with the A380. I think there is an enormous difference in the cabin environment (air quality/pressurization) between the A380 and a 747. I flew LAX-MEL and back two years ago, one direction on the A380 and the other in a 747 and the difference was staggering. It is a no brainer to me after that experience. Go with the modern plane.

You can't compare F and C, I'd go with F.
Plus, if it ain't Boeing, I'm not going.

Again, the ride in the A380 is vastly better than in a 747, night and day in my opinion. We are talking about 30 plus years difference in cabin air quality and overall environment.

Having flown in both (although obviously the 747 a lot more) I really don't notice a difference. I like the little gallery area of AF's 380s though.

Th flight on A380 is very nice. As you lift off, you don't even feel it. It's like watching a movie of ground going bye bye and you're sitting home on your couch. It is nice,. However .... LH business class in A380 is the entire 2nd floor, so even though you get more legroom, it doesn't feel secluded from others ... there is a lot of you there./

I'd probably go with 1st class on UA.

I can notice the difference. The 380 is also much quieter than the 744 is too, although I assume UA's F is in the A section of the 744, so I'm not sure how much an issue that will be.
