Swapping seats
Hi,
I will be doing a business trip in a few weeks to Europe and my wife will be tagging along. Since she will be booking an economy class (my company will book a business class), I wanted to ask if she can take seat in my place on one leg while I use hers? Has anybody done this? We are looking to subtly exchange ;-] boarding passes soon after the gate agent scans our boarding tickets.
Any tips? thoughts? better suggestions would be highly appreciated.
Thanks!

Most airlines will let you do this--but not visit or repeatedly swap seats during the flight--but the bigger issue is your job. Your employer is paying more for business class because doing so enhances the business purpose of the trip. The employer does not care whether your wife enjoys the flight and should not implicitly pay for the wife's travel except if that is part of company policy for some particular trips.

I would just not make a big deal about it. Just swap seats and get to your destination.
MSPeconomist brings up the issue of ethics...they are paying for you to be in business class...probably under the assumption it will help you be more productive?? Just a thought.
