Cheaper ways to get to PPT from NYC?
I'm trying to get to Tahiti for Valentines day from NYC and there doesn't seem to be many flight options. Futhermore, it seems NYC-PPT RT in Coach fluctuates between $1500 and $2200 depending on where you look. Perhaps some fellow FTers have some ideas on how to get there (perhaps via separate flights in Europe, etc..) a little bit cheaper? I hope to spend at least 4 nights there departing sometime next week.

Seems I'm looking at ~$1800 from NYC. Departing from LAX seems to lower it slightly to about $1400 on Air Tahiti Nui. Having said that, I will see if I can just redeem AAdvantage miles for a RT flight.
