Thanks.
It's me being stupid. I'd missed the fact that you'd confirmed it was Air America, not Total Air!

Both flights make the en route stop at the same airport and both are operated with the same equipment. Name the air carrier, the stop and the aircraft.
17- I’ll offer that this was a Piedmont 737-300 thru Baltimore (BWI)

19. Correct! Here's the sched...

LH 414: Montreal Mirabel (YMX) 1:05p - 2:30p Philadelphia (PHL)
Freq: Tuesdays & Fridays only
Service classes: F/C/Y
Meal service: None listed
Equip: DC-10

Unfortunately, I do not have the complete sched for this flight as it appeared in a North American edition OAG pocket flight guide. I think it operated FRA - YMX - PHL and return as this schedule also appears in the OAG...

LH 415: Philadelphia (PHL) 4:00p - 5:25p Montreal Mirabel (YMX)
Freq: Tuesdays & Fridays only
Service classes: F/C/Y
Meal service: None listed
Equip: DC-10

17. Yet another excellent guess....however, it wasn't Piedmont, the stop was not made at Baltimore and the equipment wasn't a B737-300.

17. Well, you are very close here with your guess. However, one would not have contacted Presidential Airways to book a seat on one of these flights.

So what airline would you have called to do so?

14. Back in the late '80s, Continental had a fleet of these operating out of the then-hub of CLE so let's go with CO.(only US> operator I know of).

14. Name the airline which was featured in a print ad in 1986 concerning this new aircraft type:

Introducing The ATR-42. State-of-the-art Technology and Comfort in a 46-passenger Jet-Prop.

_____________ - First Airline in the U.S. To Take Delivery

7. American Airlines, JFK-LAX, Boeing 767-200

14. Trans World Express, codesharing with TWA

9. It's winter time and you've just received a call from friends who have rented a lovely house in Crested Butte. "Come on out! The skiing is excellent!" Well, why the heck not?! Your current location is Huntsville (HSV) and you quickly ascertain that a connection involving two different nonstop flights operated by two different airlines will be required to travel to ski country in colorful Colorado. Both flights will be on board the same aircraft type. Identify both air carriers, the connecting city, the equipment and the closest airport to Crested Butte you will arrive into.

This question brings to mind my own prior experiences in 1985 as well as a prior question asked here at the OTAQ&D. As such, ah'mon guess a United 727-100 from Huntsville to Atlanta followed by an Air Atlanta 727-100 from Atlanta nonstop into Gunnison, Colorado

Forgive me please, but for me the only US airline that comes to mind as an operator of the ATR-42 is American Eagle. I used to fly the -42s all the time out of Miami aboard Executive Airlines on behalf of American Eagle. There's probably another airline or two, but damned if I can think of one... So - American Eagle it is!

I think one of the first ATR42s of all, not just in the US, was for Command Airways in the North-East, somewhat loosely associated with American but operating in their own colours. I believe it's still around, having spent the last 25 years or so with Aero Caribbean in Havana, doubtless taking over from an Antonov 24.

At least some Command Airways ATRs were in American Eagle livery by 1988.

Simmons Airlines were also an early ATR customer. They were flying in American Eagle colours in late 1986, out of Chicago.

My first ATR 42 flight was in May 1988 on Executive Airlines N971NA from St. Thomas to San Juan, on an AA coded flight in full American Eagle colours.
I thought the Miami base was a few years later.

4. Republic Airlines, 727-200

7. I think the key to this question is the departure time. AA 1 has traditionally been a morning departure from JFK; their evening flight was AA 21, with "21 Club Service".

I'll guess a TWA L-1011 from JFK.

3. I will make a guess that this is United flying a 727-100 on a routing of BDL-PIT-ORD-DEN-ABQ
