Boeing & its launch customers

With Boeing's delivery of its first B787 (finally) to NH earlier this week, it got me wondering who were the launch customers for Boeing's other aircrafts. Does anyone know?

LAX

PS: Not sure sure which forum this question belongs, so mods please feel free to move to where appropriate.

Wirelessly posted (beckoa's PWP wondrousdevice3.0: Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9810; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.11+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/7.0.0.261 Mobile Safari/534.11+)

IIRC AS was launch for 739 (original version) but was unsatisfied with performance.

Thanks. With the exception of LH and now NH, only US-based carriers have been launch customers for Boeing's planes.

Honestly, what are the benefits of being the launch customer?

The plane you are getting is the guinea pig for the rest of planes that follows.

You celebrate the delivery, spending money on hype which is shared by other users of that plane model.

but

I know how it feels when you get to use something first and exclusive for a limited time.

IIRC from reading "21st Century Jet" (about creating the 777) the launch customer has the advantage of being able to help design some of the elements of the aircraft. They're also able to negotiate a good price for the aircraft, as customer #1.
