Afterwards, they refused to credit my HHonors points because my HHonors account is still in my married name. However, they did give us all the Gold benefits from my account while we were at the hotel so apparently the name discrepancy is only an issue for them when awarding the points.

I would expect that HHonors Customer Care could fix that for you after a phone call or an email. After all, you are still you, and you can show it if needed.

They can, but I think they require a fax/scan of the marriage certificate so I just haven't gotten around to it yet (I don't have regular access to a fax machine or scanner). I do plan to follow up, it was a lot of points!
